Who is Your Shepherd?
The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep to ensure their security and good growth. He knows the sheep and the sheep hear his voice. You can better relate this to our modern day fulani herdsmen.
It is now sufficing to ask if you have a shepherd in your life who can be classified as "good". It could be anyone at all, a pastor, mentor, your parents, or anybody who has influence or interest in your life. It is good to have one as an individual aiming to attain great achievements in life.
However, earthly shepherds may disappoint you my dear. If care is not taken you will lose your direction and focus under their shepherding in view of the Will of God.
Oh but, there is this great shepherd who is one in all. He does not only ensure the security and growth of his sheep, but lays down his life for the sheep. He does this irrespective of the position of the sheep.
Even for those sheep who are not yet in his fold, he tends graciously into the fold, given them heritage and pasture.
Come to this shepherd, come to Christ Jesus. He will never let you down. He will not allow you to slip away from his hand. Neither will he give way for anyone to snatch you from his hand. He will hold you firmly to his bosom and will ensure that you have the required treat in life according to the will of the Father.
Come on dear, come to your shepherd, brother and friend. His hands are stretched for you. No more delay!
Stay blessed!
John 10:1-42, Mathew 11:28-30, John 14:1-6
